Ebony carvings of Woodlark Island

While living (as the only white woman) on Woodlark Island in Milne Bay Province of Papua New Guinea I have collected a number of ebony carvings and paintings from the Muyua people - many of whom are my friends.

The carvings and paintings are extremely rare and almost impossible to come by due to the extreme remoteness of the island.

Their work is exceptional and I have a trusted arrangement with these artists to sell some of their work.

These people grow their own vegetables and catch local fish.  They live in grass huts amongst the rainforests and beaches of the island.  They have very little, yet are a contented people.

Should you be interested in further information or in purchasing any of the pieces photographed in this posting, please send enquiries by clicking on the word comments and leave your email  address if you would like me to respond.

The Woodlark Collection includes a number of paintings by a renowned artist
from the village of Kulumadau.

This is the first of a set of four paintings, depicting the tradition of Kula Jewel trading.
